Legislative Relations |

|
The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is a state-supported institution. It must open and maintain lines of communication with those individuals and groups who make decisions on the use of public funds. The Alumni Association conducts the University's Legislative Relations program with the direction and close scrutiny of the University President and the Vice President for University Advancement. The Legislative Relations Committee is responsible for presenting the University's legislative package prior to each legislative session, sponsoring activities and legislative information sessions and through direct personal contact with legislators through the alumni network. RED AND WHITE DAY is an annual event sponsored by the Alumni Assocaition in which University administrators, faculty/staff, alumni representatives and student leaders travel to Baton Rouge for a day full of activities including networking with local legislators and observing the legislative process in action. The day is usually ended with an evening social in which all participants come together for more networking and fun and enjoyment.
