2013 Homecoming "Bill Bass Open" Golf Tournament

<<ONLINE REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO REGISTER OR HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT THE GOLF TOURNAMENT, PLEASE CONTACT DAN MCDONALD DIRECTLY AT THE NUMBER BELOW. >>

It's Fall. It's Homecoming. It's gorgeous outside and you should be on the golf course. The Homecoming Bill Bass Open Golf Tournament presented by the UL Alumni Association and friends of the UL Golf Team, provides you with that opportunity as well as a chance to gather with friends, Ragin' Cajun alumni and former athletes for an afternoon of fun and good times.

This year, several new features have been added to not only make the tournament a bigger part of Homecoming activities, but also to make the event one of the area's "not-to-be-missed" tournaments. The tournament is making a major push to get former UL athletes involved and playing in the event, so it is a great opportunity to meet some former Cajun greats and renew acquaintances with others.

The tournament is open to everyone up to a MAXIMUM of 60 teams or 240 golfers, and raises funds for the Bill Bass Scholarship Fund and other Alumni Association programs as well as the Ragin' Cajun Golf Team.

In addition to golf, lunch will be served before play and special events are planned on the course during the tournament. And yes, there will be celebrity sightings and a chance for interaction on several holes. Several door prizes will be presented following play and players and fans will have the opportunity to bid on several prestigious silent auction items.

Come and join us! Put together your own four-person team or send in your individual entry and you'll be paired up as part of a group. Better yet, become a sponsor and enjoy a day of golf while letting others know of your support of the Ragin' Cajuns.

FORMAT:  The tournament is a four-person scramble with a point system to allow for handicaps. Total team handicaps (all four handicaps added together) will be used in a point system that will determine handicap strokes for each team PRIOR to play.

PRIZES:  Team prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place teams. Individual prizes will include long drive and closest to the hole on select holes. Door prizes will be presented after play. All prizes will be awarded inside the clubhouse following play.

ENTRY FEE:  Includes green fee and cart, a souvenir golf shirt and other tee gifts, range balls, lunch and refreshments on the course. Also included are TWO mulligans for each player and may be used on any individual shot.

SPONSORSHIPS: A number of sponsorships opportunities are available for businesses and individuals who want to show their support for the Ragin' Cajuns, or for those who would like to contribute to the Bill Bass Scholarship Fund. Sponsorships run from $100 to $1,500 and are available by calling Jonas at 337.482.0900.

PUTTING CONTEST: A putting contest will be held during the tournament with the winner earning the chance to putt for a prize following play. Entry fee is $5.

DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES IS MONDAY, OCTOBER 28TH AT NOON.

***VERY IMPORTANT! In the NOTES SECTION, please include your shirt size AND handicap if you are registering for a single player. If registering a team, please include all team members names, their shirt size and handicap.
