Graduation in 1995 did not stop her from staying involved; now she volunteers with the UL Alumni Association. Aaron, who owns Physical Therapy Advantage, Inc., earned a bachelors degree in science with a concentration in exercise science. Through the association, she helps with the football season ticket drive and Sweet Sounds of Sharing, an annual event organized by the Christiana Smith African-American Alumni Chapter. She has served the association in the capacity of Christiana Smith African-American Alumni Chapter vice president of events, Alumni Council member-at-large and the College of Education Alumni Chapter member-at-large. Aaron said that as a student at UL, she appreciated the way she was treated by the faculty, and really felt at home with her UL family. The Kinesiology Department was an especially nurturing environment for me, she said. I was given excellent advice, an opportunity to do research and present the research at national conferences and to receiveseveral scholarships. Continuing her involvement with UL, Aaron said working with the Alumni Association has been a rewarding experience. You can make lasting personal and business contacts. It provides a social outlet and you can assist current students and recruit future students, she said. The social atmosphere created by the association has allowed Aaron to keep in contact with old friends as well as make new ones. When not at work or volunteering with the Alumni Association, Aaron is a piano teacher and a nursery worker at Progressive Baptist Church.
