UL Lafayette Alumni Association constituent groups are divided into two categories: Ragin' Cajun Clubs and Alumni Chapters.

Ragin’ Cajun Clubs
Ragin' Cajun Clubs are alumni organizations whose base of membership is derived from a specific geographic region (city, parish, state, metropolitan area, etc.). They are involved in many activities, but their major goals are:
- To provide an opportunity for all alumni (graduates or former students) and friends of UL to interact meaningfully with the University and its activities, and to serve as the community contact for current information about the University and its programs
- To consistently seek to increase active club membership
- To recruit, under the guidance and direction of university admissions staff, outstanding students from their area to attend UL
- To provide support to the University, the Alumni Association and deserving students from their area for the purpose of attending UL
Alumni Chapters
Alumni Chapters are alumni organizations whose base of membership is derived from a specific college, major, or interest group (i.e. College of Nursing Alumni Chapter - nursing graduates; College of Education Alumni Chapter - education graduates). They are involved in many activities, but their major goals are:
- To provide an opportunity for all alumni (graduates or former students) and friends of UL involved in the chapter’s particular area of interest, to interact meaningfully with the University and its activities, and to serve as the contact for current information about the University and its programs in that chapter’s particular area of interest
- To consistently seek to increase active chapter membership
- To recruit, under the guidance and direction of university admissions staff, outstanding students to attend UL
- To provide for support to the University, the Alumni Association, to students from their area of interest for the purpose of attending UL and to the college or department of affiliation

Members of the Houston Ragin' Cajun Club are shown gathered for a good time.

Club and Chapter Individual Website Disclaimer
The UL Alumni Association strives to promote the efforts of its clubs and chapters. One way it acheives that is by providing website links on its website to its Clubs and Chapters that have their own individual websites. The Alumni Association, however, does not control the content of those websites and as such, is not responsible for that content. For any additional questions regarding this matter, please email alumniwebmaster@louisiana.edu.
